Western HolstersThe beginning of the twentieth century was almost the end of the old west and the days when all men wore their gun proudly in their hip in their western holsters. With industrialization taking hold and of course new laws prohibiting the display of hand guns in public the old west was slowly fading away. The style and attitude of the old cowboy was kept alive in books and when movies became popular the old west shoot outs were one of the first to be portrayed. Westerns were easy to produce and so every director in town tried to put their name on one. The movies and eventually television kept the spirit of the old west alive, but the quality of the costumes and props the actors wore were nowhere near what a true cowboy would even look at. John Bianchi western holsters are a true work of art. Each one is individually hand crafted from the finest leather and wet molded to fit the exact model, caliber, and barrel length of the gun that it will be holding. A cowboy's gun, horse, and saddle were some of his proudest possessions they would own. They new the importance of quality leather workmanship for their western holsters and saddles and wanted only the ones that would last a lifetime. Craftsmen took pride in their hand precision skills at working with leather and perfected techniques that could stand the test of time. These techniques were almost forgotten until the 1950's when John Bianchi started hand making western holsters and gun belts in his garage. He slowly built a reputation as a man that took quality and perfection in the craft to a new level. Soon he was producing authentic pieces for the movie and television industries. Outfitting some of the most famous acting cowboys, like John Wayne and Roy Rodgers. He not only perfected the designs and styles of the old western holsters, but he created new design concepts that have become the industry standard of today.
